A Wonderful Slice Of Life Film
This movie was amazing. The storyline was simple, but it intrigues you and makes you invested in it. There isn’t anything grand about it, but that is its charm. The main character Angie, played by Emma Galbraith, was very realistic. Her behavior, story, mannerisms, and talking style were normal and not overexaggerated.

This is a great and relatable coming of age film, as it depicts Angie trying to figure out her life and learning new things about herself on the way. It shows REALISTIC problems and situations that a person may be going through without making it over dramatic.

The acting of the cast was splendid. I truly felt like I was really in the scene, watching it unfold infront of my own eyes. The scenes captivate you, and make you feel real emotions whilst watching.

Overall, this movie is definitely a 10/10, I highly recommend it!

Solid and Nuanced
An Asian lead who is allowed to be flawed, allowed to be fully human, and still deal with very real Chinese-American experiences. It feels good to see this type of character being able to have a social plot with their peers without just being a Chinese-American but just being human; it was the type of drama you could see the typical (white) American actor in but with more layers due to additionally being in between cultures. This is very clearly not Hollywood, but even then it doesn’t feel like cutting this film slack by mentioning how stunning the camera work is and how genuine the script felt, even with the awkward moments feeling like actual teenage moments. All in all, it is a great coming-of-age film that truly fulfills its role as a form of our representation as fully fleshed-out humans!
