As being a film critic, I have no better way to express my delicacy of positive thoughts to a certain horror film. This may have looked good in adverts but when it came to general release, there’s been a downfall to it.
The goblins may have been funny, but the entire story to this film has made no sense whatsoever, not to mention there being less jumpscares. I honestly think that Unwelcome has not been the best horror film I’ve ever seen. I mean, you can hardly call it a horror movie, that doesn’t make any sense, without a plot twist or any jump scares.
Altogether, I don’t feel it’s necessary for this film to get a sequel and make a comeback, so other than that, this entire film has been a complete failure. Never watching again.
Mixed options to be honest…
I read about this movie in my movie mag some time last year and liked the concept.
This film is very much made up of 2 halves, you just need to hang on and make it to the second part as this is where things get bonkers, first half is building this story which kinda drags and you’ll be thinking you are watching a couple about moving to Ireland after dealing with one of the movies many themes ‘violence’.
But even in to the final act, this movie has a mish mash of themes, from domestic abuse to nightmare builders!
Because of the constant crossover, you forget who are the main antagonists of the movie, I’m left with mixed opinions….
