Dutta and also stars Shabana Azmi, Sunil Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, Divya Dutta, Himani Shivpuri and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. A remake of the original directed by Muzaffar Ali and released in 1981.

Excellent piece of work but a movie for classes and not for the masses.
This movie is a great presentation of the novel. It’s a real classic if you have the taste. I think teenagers won’t find much in this movie. But it is a must watch for the people who are mature and grown and seen different aspects of life. The costumes, jewelry, and sets are very good. The make up, on screen beauty and acting of Aishwarya is stunning. The dialogues and lyrics are also very good. Shabana has played her role very well. Abhishek has done OK but not very well while Sunil Shetty on the other hand has done better in his comparatively short appearance. Divya dutta and Ayesha Julka didn’t have much scope. The director has concentrated completely on Aishwary and she has proved her worth very well in this movie. Probably the best performance by Aishwary so far. God, she looks stunning even at the age of 33 when most of the Bollywood actress are married and retired. All in all it’s a must watch for the people who have taste for such movies.
