Watch: My Name Is Bruce 2007 123movies, Full Movie Online – Four teenage kids from the tiny mining town of Gold Lick vandalize a nineteenth-century cemetery of Chinese laborers when one of them disturbs a demon who’s been guarding the souls of 100 workers killed in a cave-in. Jeff, the surviving teen, goes in search of his hero, over-the-hill B-movie star, Bruce Campbell. Jeff kidnaps the actor and brings him to Gold Lick to save the town. Bruce thinks it’s a birthday treat engineered by his agent, so he plays along, humoring the townsfolk and chatting up Jeff’s unimpressed mom. Bodies pile up as the demon slashes. A must-see for every Bruce fan
First, my comments are based on a sneak preview of the film. I was not completed–lots of special effects were missing, the soundtrack was said to be not final, so the soundtrack (including dialogue) was not polished.

Having said all of that, and based on the reaction of the small army of Bruce Campbell fans in attendance, this is clearly a movie that every Ash fan will want to see. Without giving away more of the plot than is in the outline, an monster has been unleashed on a small town in Southern Oregon, and Bruce is enlisted by local fans to fight it. But it’s Bruce, not Ash, and he does his level best to portray himself as a washed-up B movie actor with no scruples or morals worth mentioning. There’s a lot that reminded me of Galaxy Quest, but with Campbellian twist, and about one-tenth the special effects budget.

The crowd couldn’t stop laughing, so go see this when it’s out!

What would BC do…?
Many years ago, on an episode of THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE FILM SHOW (not to be confused with AMERICA’S MOST WANTED), Sam Raimi was profiled while on the set of EVIL DEAD II: DEAD BY DAWN. Clips from some of Raimi’s amateur movies were shown, including a very funny scene where a young Bruce Campbell almost runs over an equally baby-faced Sam Raimi. Raimi drops his glasses, reaches under the car to retrieve them- and promptly has his arm flattened by Campbell as he backs up. Raimi cries out in pain. Campbell looks down, sees him, and quips: “Oh, Paul! I’m glad I ran across you!” Do it with a straight face and impeccable timing, and even as broad a visual joke as that one works. If there’s one thing Campbell still has- in spades- it’s timing. Like Charlie Chaplin, Campbell has spent years perfecting his art- and it is an art. MY NAME IS BRUCE is the kind of movie Joe Bob Briggs would love (and who better to judge what is tantamount to prime drive-in fodder?) and, taken with MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN!, is a clear indication that BC is now on the verge of becoming the new Roger Corman (only better).
