I came across this 2015 documentary after watching David Choe’s 7/31/2020 interview on the Joe Rogan podcast. David Choe has lead an interesting life – riddled with both opportunities and challenges. The 7/31/2020 podcast provides an extemporaneous introspective retrospection that one can reference in order to understand and appreciate further this documentary (as well as the “Thumbs Up” Hitchhiking series that David Choe created for the Vice channel). Collectively, these shows (e.g. podcast, documentary, Vice travel series, etc) provide a good study (i.e. a deeper dive) about the person behind the artist – David Choe’s mind/persona. I hadn’t known of David Choe prior to the 2020 podcast, but he has gained my admiration now.
