Watch: Darkness Falls 2003 123movies, Full Movie Online – In the Nineteenth Century, in Darkness Falls, Matilda Dixon is a good woman, who exchanges with children their baby teeth per coins. One day, her face is burnt in a fire in her house, she becomes sensitive to light and uses a china mask to protect her face against light. When two children are not found in the town, Matilda is blamed by the population and burnt in a fire, as if she were a witch. She claims to be not guilty and curses the whole population of the town and their descendants, stating that when each child loses the last tooth, she would come to get it, and if the child looks at her, she would kill him or her. After her death, the two children are found, and the shamed citizens decide to bury this sad and unfair event and never mention it again. Twelve years ago, the boy Kyle accidentally saw the Tooth Fairy, and she killed his mother. All the persons in Darkness Falls but his girlfriend Caitlin accused the boy of murdering his mother and sent him to an institution, considered deranged. In the present days, Caitlin calls Kyle to help her young brother Michael, who has seen the Fairy Tooth and is afraid of the dark..
Plot: A vengeful spirit has taken the form of the Tooth Fairy to exact vengeance on the town that lynched her 150 years earlier. Her only opposition is the only child, now grown up, who has survived her before.

Life for a tooth.

As a young boy, Kyle Walsh (Chaney Kley) claims to have seen the fearsome Tooth Fairy kill his own mother. He also claims that having seen her, she wont stop until she also kills him. Years later, and still haunted by the experience of that night, Kyle must return to Darkness Falls to aid his childhood sweetheart, Caitlin Greene (Emma Caulfield) and her kid brother Michael, the latter of which who seems to be at risk from the Tooth Fairy this time around. Can Kyle confront his fears and end the 150 years of terror that has blighted Darkness Falls?

Pretty much despised by the discerning horror-phile, Darkness Falls, to me at least, is a creepy, interesting and totally enjoyable thriller/ghost picture worth reappraisals. From the excellent, and chilling opening credits (where we nicely have a back story to work from), to the final confrontation, Darkness Falls ticks most of the ghostly requisites that is asked of it. Scary demon (troubled children with night terrors should be explored more in cinema I feel), cannon fodder bullies, cannon fodder obnoxious coppers and a constant sense of unease and dread. All of which is provided in Jonathan Liebesman’s (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning”) film. It’s with the sense of dread that I feel that this deserves a better reputation. Hand on my heart I know the film isn’t a scary boo jump picture, something that is unforgivable to many genre supporters, but atmosphere goes a long way to creating a good thriller/ghost story picture. Darkness Falls has it in spades, and it’s also a film that is a nice antidote to the blood beast torture sub-genre of film that seep out from the multi-plexes on a seemingly weekly basis.

Any expectation of an outright horror film should be quickly extinguished prior to a first time viewing, and if noise annoys and staccato editing bugs you? well stay away. Also don’t line up if one demands great acting in a budget restricted piece such as this, since both Kley & Caulfield are only adequate at best. But give it a go if you understand that a preposterous plot, and preposterous set pieces are a pre-requisite for horror films of this type. I say that since I’ve seen many comments decrying Darkness Falls for the unbelievable elements – only to then search their other comments to find praise for even more ludicrously plotted pieces! Or give it a go knowing it’s more about the creeping stalking menace side of horror, or that it’s also an action thriller as well as an uneasy story. Maybe just maybe you will enjoy it for what it is? Otherwise I guess you will be looking forward to “Hostel 22” or another “Jason Attacks The Eiffel Tower” movie… 7/10

This was an interesting watch. Though not great, it had moody ambience in spades, and I’m intrigued of what the future holds for director Liebesman. Worth a watch.

Severe nightmares once upon a time…
Okay, I admit this may not be a great movie, but I don’t think it is the worst either. However, I do think I’m only saying that because I loved it as a kid. Honestly, it was always the choice of scary film for me and my friends at sleepovers etc. It was scary, the tooth-fairy character is my idea of a worst nightmare, and believe me she gave me plenty in the years that followed. I haven’t seen it in a few years and while it may not haunt me anymore I suspect it would give me an intermediate shiver if I watched it again today.

Usually I bash films like this. There are probably better horror films out there that I’ve given worse reviews too, but this one holds sentimental value for me and I genuinely believe that it’s not THAT bad. The acting isn’t wonderful and the story plays out a bit predictably… I still quite like the premise though and the legend behind Matilda the tooth-fairy.

If you scare easily, I wouldn’t recommend you watch this alone. The movie might not be top, but it is full of jumps and the villain is horrifying. Enjoy (with the lights on).

A GREAT OLD FASHIONED GHOST STORY WITH A GOOD LEAD & CREEPY ATMOSPHERE!!!
Darkness Falls is a great little Supernatural Horror flick that came out in the huge wave of really well made Horror’s during the early 2000’s, we had lots hitting the cinema like Ghost Ship,13 Ghosts,The Texas chainsaw massacre,Wrong Turn,They, Road Kill aka:Joy Ride,The Ring,The Grudge & many more, all nice budget Horror films that i couldn’t wait to see at the cinema.

Darkness Falls,stands out as a really good fast-paced chiller with a really creepy old witch/Tooth fairy creature that can only come out & attack it’s victims at night. The disfigured old tooth fairy Ghost is excellently designed & very scary looking,she’s such a cool monster for this fun easy watching Horror flick. The whole background origins of the tooth fairy is done beautifully as you see at the beginning, it’s rich in back story & old history with a really great Ghostly character at it’s dark centre. This is an old fashioned Ghost story like what John Carpenter did with The Fog (1980) & that’s my fave of his films!!! The scary old tooth fairy Ghost was beautifully created by the legendary monster creator Stan Winston, so you see his name on a movie & you know the monster will look amazing & it does here!!!

Kyle Walsh is our lead character played by the very talented Chaney Kley, who I’m gutted to hear passed away in 2007!!! He was a very good intense actor who gave a great troubled performance with Kyle the kid who saw his mum killed by the evil old hag when it came to collect his last baby tooth back when he was 10 yrs old. 12 years later & kyle is a very disturbed young man who returns to his home town of Darkness Falls to help save a young boy who fears the Tooth fairy is back. I really would’ve liked to have seen more films or roles of Chaney as he’s really good as our lead hero here but I’m thankful he atleast got this lead role in a mainstream Horror-Thriller & not just just say a little budget indie-flick, atleast here he got a chance to be in the big screen in a fun & exciting thrill ride & itself a great part & film to revisit often as i do. A really memorable performance by Chaney & one of my personal favourite Horror movie hero roles so to me he’s a Cult hero in my opinion in a Cult film with DARKNESS FALLS. A solid piece of work from Chaney that is memorable & cements his place in the Horror movie Hall of Fame for me!!! R.I.P Chaney Kley.

The story is well told like a scary fairy tale & the old all American little town is a nice typical,familiar setting so that’s the set up for this cool little Horror. I looked up Chaney Kley as i really liked him in this & it seems Darkness Falls is his only main lead role & movie!!! It’s a shame as he was really good & likable & one of my favourite Horror film characters of the genre.

Anyway Darkness Falls is a fun Horror Thriller that is scary & fast-paced without ever becoming boring,we also have a good lead in Chaney (R.I.P),a creepy moody atmosphere & a sense of having fun with this film. Easy watching entertainment.
