I was disappointed both with the prey, a self-styled fearless profiler of the eccentric, and the antagonist- Bruce, serial killer of 39 boys and men. The former seemed to be a blank canvas when she was forced out of her self-styled persona (video profiler of the eccentric) and the latter, after having done a fantastic job in the original story, seemed bored to me. The dialogue was only marginally creative and the final act felt like someone whispering under their breath “I’ve got nothing”. With the exception of the very last frame of the movie: a look that inspired hopes of better things to come.

The original _Creep’s_ laurels rested firmly, and singularly, on the head of Mark Duplass’ characterisation. _Creep 2_ lifts the game up in other areas, bringing some new, punchy ideas to the table. Unfortunately, Mark Duplass’ role, while still portrayed excellently, is essentially the same thing we saw last time around, which, unfortunately, can’t possibly have the same impact a second go around.

_Final rating:★★½ – Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole._

Again, one word…..Nutcase!!! Apparently, the review was too short with the one line, so again, I will say , Nutcase!!

Creep 2, or two creeps?
When I saw that there was a sequel out to the classic original, I was skeptical. Horror sequels usually dilute the formula the first film started with. Villains lose their edge. In fact, they generally become the heroes of the piece, essentially. Think of any slasher movie sequel out there. You don’t want the victims to survive. You want the killer to hurry up and get them, preferably in a uniquely violent way.

“Creep 2” avoids this problem by finding a situation perhaps even more disturbing than the one the original movie used. It’s the same set-up, indeed, although it’s a woman who is making the movie about the Duplass character this time. The difference is that she might be just as crazy as him.

Unlike the first movie, there were parts of “Creep 2” I almost wanted to turn the movie off. It’s like taking a trip with two lunatics. The found-footage style only adds to this. The camera doesn’t flinch (read: cut) so you are left mesmerised. But do you really want to spend time with these two characters?

Part of you does. Admit it.

But part of you doesn’t.

That’s the hold this classic sequel exerts over you.
