Your average Christmas movie
It’s your average Christmas movie. I was disappointed with the fact of the main character being on a “lettuce diet” to lose weight, where she eats nothing but lettuce for days to get ready for a big event. This promotes eating disorders and unhealthy relationships with food in adolescence or other people watching these movies. For that reason, I found it unfortunate it was added in. It could have been a good movie without that. The rest of the movie wasn’t too bad. Can’t recommend for the reason of them promoting disordered eating habits however. I felt it was an unnecessary part to include. —

Heartwarming Christmas Movie
I disagree with a few of the bad reviews this movie got, maybe they didn’t understand what expectations you should have while watching a Netflix Christmas movie ????.

Maybe they wanted to see our beloved Ela but we got a different character this time, closer to her real age showing us issues that many actors and singers are facing. This film made me think of Shakira because I’m a fan of her first few albums but haven’t bothered with all the ones that came after when she died her hair blonde to win the “American” market.

Anyway, the movie has a nice pace, the acting is good and the story has everything you could expect from a Christmas movie, you get your happy ending and actually think that getting matching outfits to celebrate Christmas might be a nice touch this year;-)
