Reviews:

America the Beautiful
In an increasingly polarized political culture, Dinesh D’Souza forcibly presents a retort to the contemporary historical narrative of American Shame. By a skillful application of anecdotal evidence (in the form of historical re-enactment and source documents), a more complete narrative of America emerges.

D’Souza provides a great service for his efforts to teach his audience about the true roots of America. Through his focus on the unique ideals present in (and perpetuated from) the American founding era, it is hard not to leave the theater with a rekindled love for this great country.

The film transitions (rather abruptly) about two-thirds of the way through from a historical retelling of America to a political thrust against those who have weaponized the American Shame narrative, namely Saul Alinsky and his disciples. While this second portion of the film loses much of the optimism present in the first, it is nonetheless equally potent. It exposes the roots of dangerous trends in American politics that continue to exert great influence against those ideals that have made this country unique.

The greatest weakness of the film is unfortunately intrinsic to its purpose. In responding to so many different allegations against the American story, the film is not capable of fully exhausting each topic. Each point D’Souza attempts to make is worth a documentary in itself. Nonetheless, the concise argument made in this film will hopefully open the doors for further exploration into America and her story.

Whether or not you agree with the message Dinesh D’Souza promotes, this film is imperative to see. If you agree with the message, it’s argument is invaluable. If you disagree with the message, then you ought to be capable of responding to the film’s position.

Historically Factual and Patriotically Passionate
Bravo Mr. D’Souza, for revealing the truth of History in such a factual and articulate manner…and God Bless you for your passion for our country.

Having earned a Masters is History from Oxford University in Great Britain, I’ve learned and seen first hand what’s happening to America right now. There are anti-American people that will want to alter or pervert the history of a country to support their version of why they are motivated to act or speak about their country the way they need to.

Specifically regarding this film, I knew that most Indians (80-85%) in America died of diseases carried over from Europe and other countries. I also knew that there were thousands of Black Slave Owners before the Civil War. I also know, that Americans have died around the world, while attempting to aid the oppressed in other “Freedom Seeking,” lands.

People that would believe otherwise, have an subversive agenda.
