A terrific surprise
This was actually a really good film. Admittedly I went into it expecting the “Karen” gimmick to be overdone and uninspired but I came away from this movie totally pleased. The dialogue was extremely funny most of the time and not really corny (which this could have easily leaned into). Don’t get me wrong, it definitely has some silly moments but they were fine. It was a jaunty spin on the old “Scrooge” plot. Obviously we have all seen that done to death but this included some very fresh and contemporary spins on it. The actors did a great job and I recommend this for a fun Christmas watch. Not to mention it’s pleasing to watch a Karen get her comeuppance!

A really fun Film
As a fan of Christmas Carol stories, but having a harsh hatred of Karens, I was curious going into this one how I was going to enjoy it. I really did overall! The cast had a lot of fun with it, and it’s a very modern take on the classic tale. It had quite a few laugh out loud sequences while also tugging at the heartstrings at the right moments. It really completes the gambit of an emotional rollercoaster, all wrapped up in a Christmas bow. I think this will definitely fair better with an older audience, who might be exhausted at the amount of Carol options on streaming. But for sure, there are a lot of “Karens” out there who could take a lesson from this one!
